Worship

Campus Lutheran is proud to partner with Family of Christ Lutheran Church. Through this joint ministry, students have the opportunity to join the community on campus and be attached to a Lutheran church in the Kearney community. Students come to Campus Lutheran for many reasons and seek worship for many more. At Campus Lutheran, the core of why we worship is “gathering around the means of grace.” We believe that God’s grace is the means of salvation, and by seeking to grow closer to God as disciples, we can be called to live out life as we were intended when God named us Beloved.

Campus Lutheran Dinner Church

Trusting God creates us as vessels for love and grace, all are welcome as we:

  • Prepare the meal together.

  • Pass the homemade bread, communing our neighbor.

  • Eat together, family style.

  • Engage with scripture and each other, bringing all of who we are to the table.

  • Clean up together as an act of service.

  • Are sent with dessert and blessing, trusting in the goodness of God.

  • And sometimes watching Hanna Montana or listening to music together because school is hard.

Pro Tips for your First Service

What to wear

Dress as yourself. That can be blue jeans, shorts, or a T-shirt. The idea that you need to wear your Sunday best is becoming a more outdated idea in many churches. The measure of a church is if they will accept and welcome when you come as who you are.

Grab a Bulletin

Once you get there, you can grab a bulletin. It will give you the outline of the service. Most bulletins will tell you what hymns will be sung, and will have any spoken parts printed.

Church is a Social Situation

Going anywhere alone can be difficult, especially social situations. Church is a social situation, people talk, and they may talk to you. Just know the people talking to you are genuinely excited that your at their church. Just make sure to go easy on yourself.
